Beth Dzwil (viola)
A versatile performer, Beth received her classical training
with Joseph DePasquale at The Philadelphia College of the
Performing Arts and studied jazz with the Turtle Island String
Quartet. As a classical musician, she is principal violist
of the Pottstown Symphony Orchestra and has performed with
the Delaware Symphony, Orchestra 2001 and the Classical Symphony.
She has appeared as soloist with the Pottstown Symphony Orchestra
and the Buxmont Chamber Orchestra. She has performed children’s
programs in the classical, folk and jazz styles for the Germantown
Avenue String Stop, both here and abroad. She performs and
records in the jazz idiom with the Tyrone Brown Sextet with
whom she performed at the Moers Jazz Festival in Germany.
She has recorded for Eddie Green and Gay Pearson. Beth also
performs many Sunday mornings with the contemporary Christian
band “For The Spirit” at Upper Dublin Lutheran
Church. She is a voting member of NARAS (the Grammy organization).
She teaches violin, viola and chamber music privately and
at Chestnut Hill Academy, Springside School and Germantown
Friends School.
